Day 23 when "you have some explaining to do"

Don't you love families?
When Joseph reveals who he is to his brothers, he doesn't put blame on anyone but sees Gods hand of delivery at work, and in this case, from famine. What a telling comment of Joseph's when he sends them on their way with "no quarreling on the way", any mother can see the accusations and fear flying out of their mouths, grown men though they are, they are still brothers! Now they have some explaining to do, I am happy not to be the "fly on the wall". Siobhan

  3. Siobhan that caught my attention also. Something to think about in previous verses in this chapter Joseph gave the brothers clothes and provision. In scripture a change of clothes is often a sign of a new beginning, and this was certainly a new beginning for Jacob's sons.He gave them clothes and pretty much said move forward not back into past mistakes. He wanted them to except the forgiveness given them and don't look back because he had forgiven them and wanted them to be at peace and not quarrel.Diana

  4. Thanks Diana, I hadn't thought of the significance of the change of clothes. I think of the robes of linen, the works of the righteous in Rev. Having wedding garments for the marriage feast of the Lamb. and the exchange of garments for Joshua the high priest in Zechariah 3v3-4"Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. The angel said to those who were standing before him, "Take off his filthy clothes." Then he said to Joshua, "See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put rich garments on you." Siobhan
