Exodus 33 V 11
Here we see Joshua remaining at the tent of worship, could this be the reason that he had the courage needed to go to war and claim the promised land?
Both he and Caleb were to only ones who gave the "good report" and eventually led the next generation into the promised land.
Joshua was content to sit listen and learn. YHWH didn't talk with him face to face only Moses, his time would come soon enough.
This tells me that there is a time to worship and stand in awe of YHWH before going into any battle. It is God who trains our hands for war and our fingers for battle. Psalm 144:1 "Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle"

of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
