Job 35 In the "what's in it for me" culture of today, Elihu asks us what God gets out of our goodness or badness or how does it benefit God when our life takes a "left" turn? Our benefit to God is that he wants "godly children" people to show that they love him by obeying and depending on him.(Malachi 3 gives us the purpose of marriage)...I guess that is just what we want from our children :)
So, when we are going through the tough time, we could just ask ourselves why would God put us through this? do we see YHWH as Father or Foe?
