Day 78 Preparing the way for the Lord

Luke 3:4-6 "A voice of one calling in the wilderness,'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him. Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low.The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth. And all people will see God's salvation.' " (Isa 40:3-5)

This passage, over the years, has taught me a great lesson in living with God on a daily basis. As I look back, the anxieties I have had in life could have been greatly lessened if I realized what my part should look like in this dance of life with God.

I see the pro-activeness needed in being prepared for God to act. Somehow we proclaim Christianity as "waiting for God" so we should "be still' and do nothing, forgetting that He works in us to will and to act according to his good purpose. (Phil 2:13)

This preparation gives a sense of freedom that enables involvement and calls us to "straighten up" so that we can see the salvation of God at work. It takes 100% us and 100% God in the relationship.

Proverbs 3:5-7 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil.

Proverbs 4:11 I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths.

God does give us all we need for life and godliness, so we can prepare our hearts, minds and will to conform to seeing reality as He sees it. As we go through this day, may our preparations enable us to see God's salvation in the regular situations of life. Be Blessed.
