Day 84 Proverbs 8 Call of Wisdom

Proverbs 8 :2-3 & 10-11 A Call of Wisdom
"On the heights along the way, where the paths meet, she takes her stand; beside the gates leading into the city, at the entrances, she cries aloud":

I take this to mean that when decisions have to be made and opportunities arise, wisdom is available before we take the next step.

I remember my mother saying a "fool and his money are soon parted" and she was right.

10-11 "Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her".

Before we meet our next "once in a lifetime opportunity" stop and consult the voice of Wisdom, we will gain prudence, and be able to recognize the difference between truth and deception.

Remember, the more we call on wisdom, the more we get!
May YHWH be able to bless our decisions today.

  1. Thank you for the good words.

I thought about each situation the proverb mentions. When we are riding high we can sometimes base our decisions on our high feelilngs (wisdom crying from the heights). When we have choices in front of us (crying from where the paths meet) we need wisdom. When we go into a city there are many temptations to spend and places to go (crying from the city gates).

This last reference could also refer to the elders who sat at the gates to distribute their wisdom. Listening to our elders can save us from making foolish decisions.
