Day 69 Becoming unclean for dead family.

Lev 21 2ff'A priest must not make himself ceremonially unclean for any of his people who die, except for a close relative, such as his mother or father, his son or daughter, his brother, or an unmarried sister who is dependent on him since she has no husband—for her he may make himself unclean.

WOW what an insight this gives us to Luke 8. The passage verse 40ff talks about Jairus, the synagogue ruler's daughter, who was dying and the woman who was suffering from a hemorrhage for 12 years who touched the hem of his garment, he also referred to her as "daughter". On both occasions, Jesus would have made himself unclean. But as the Great High Priest he seen these women as daughters, part of the family of God.
