Day 197 Keeping our back turned against foolish ways.

I will listen to what God the LORD says; he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants—
but let them not turn to folly.

The amount of peace the Prince of Peace can offer us is without limitation, much like the amount of Holy Spirit we are offered. John 3:34. It's our capacity to experience both is the limiting factor.

Isaiah 48:17-19

17 This is what the LORD says—
your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
"I am the LORD your God,
who teaches you what is best for you,
who directs you in the way you should go.

18 If only you had paid attention to my commands,
your peace would have been like a river,
your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

19 Your descendants would have been like the sand,
your children like its numberless grains;
their name would never be cut off
nor destroyed from before me."

The little words "if" and "but" makes all the difference and we can choose what to do. Be taught new wise ways of dealing with the complexities of life by YHWH himself or return to our own brand of coping skills.

Verse 13: Jesus our "righteousness goes before him (you and I) and prepares the way for his(our) steps."

May we be strong followers with our eyes firmly fixed on Jesus. Amen
